A Guide To Fishing
TIPS AND HINTS
TURMERIC
One of the oldest and best bait additives. Not only will it dye your white maggots a lovely bronze colour, but it also gives them a spicy aroma that stimulates feeding, roach, dace and chub will love your "bronzies".
PLUMBING THE DEPTHS
REGARDLESS of wether your fishing in the winter or the summer it is essential to know just how deep you are fishing your swim, it is even more important in colder months when fish are not feeding as near to the surface as normal. By spending just a few minutes plumming your swim a lot of information can be gathered on where best to fish. Plumming is easy and is usually done by using a plum lead or a simple sinker weight, attach it to your mainline with a float on if the float disappears move it slightly down the line until it sits as you wish to fish, if the floats lies on its side move it up until it sits as you wish to fish.
Winter Method Feeding
When fishing the Method in winter you don't need to worry too much about nuisance small fish as much so a lighter consistency will break down easier and draw fish in.
Don't bury the hook bait either - place it so that it will sit 2 to 3 inches from the Method ball.
A buoyant bait is good as the fish will find it the minute they arrive in the area.
